- Visiting Jersey
At LibertyBus, we understand that providing a great journey to school is part of having a great day at school. We provide a schools transport service on behalf the States of Jersey, ensuring that children and young people can get to school on time – and home again – in safety and comfort.
This part of our website shows all the information on our school bus services – it has four main sections.
Routes and times: This section presents the full range of route maps and timetables for the school service
The School Bus Guide: Is full of useful information on how the service works and what to expect
Tickets and prices: Sets out how the voucher system for the school service works, how much they cost, and where to get them
What’s expected: We all have a role to play in making the school bus a great way to get to and from school. This section sets out what’s expected of children, of parents and what you should expect from us.
The Student AvanchiCard roll-out
The AvanchiCard system is being rolled-out over the course of 2013, after a phased introduction.
Already in circulation are the following AvanchiCards:
AvanchiCard concession (senior citizen card)
AvanchiCard visitor (various unlimited single and family passes for visitors to the Island)
AvanchiCard Commuter (Monthly or weekly commuter passes)
AvanchiCard Unlimited (Annual & Monthly unlimited)
The AvanchiCard Student is currently being beta tested by a group of students and will be live shortly. You can pick up an application form from our information desk at Liberation Station or download one here.
Please note that if you are aged 16 and over, you will need to bring a letter to Liberation Station when you collect your card. This can be from your school or college that confirms that you are in full time education for the school year.
The first card is free and prices for individual bus fares (fare bands A and B) are exactly the same for locals and visitors to the Island. We can also ‘hot-list’ a lost or stolen card, and transfer the balance to a new card to ensure there is no loss of credit.
