Route 2: La Rue a Don scheduled roadworks. Re-surfacing carriageway & footway

Route 2 - La Rue a Don Scheduled roadworks:  Re-surfacing carriageway & footway

From Wednesday, 18 September, until further notice, there will be roadworks on various areas of La Rue a Don stretching from Grouville Church to Rue des Pres. Unfortunately, this will mean a significant delays on the route 2 at all times due to the diversions. Please accept our apologies in advance.

The next phase of the roadworks starts on Friday 11 October and scheduled to finish on 7 November.

If you are unsure about the diverted route, or the time the bus is next due at your stop, please call our Customer Service team on 828555.

In addition to the above, the Island’s road network has suffered a major disruption due to the rock fall on Mount Bingham, resulting in the closure of the road. This situation has caused large scale general problems to traffic increasing pressure on other routes into and through town. The road closure has caused significant delays to the Island’s bus service due to the Depot and Liberation Station being caught in the middle of the serious congestion.

We are unfortunately at the mercy of very unpredictable traffic flows at the moment and although we have extra buses running, we are unable to prevent sudden build ups of traffic from delaying services unexpectedly and therefore having a knock on effect to further scheduled services. We are working hard to manage this situation as efficiently as possible, however, it is out of our control.

We have had requests from the public to have buses leave earlier from Liberation Station. However, due to the terms of our operating licence we are unable to change the timetable without first having a public consultation which takes time to satisfy all the regulatory requirements.

Please keep returning to this page for up to date information regarding the diversions.

Again, please accept our apologies for the traffic congestion at the moment and rest assured that we are doing everything operationally possible to keep the disruption to a minimum.

Thank you,

LibertyBus Operations Team
