From midday, 14 August, Gorey Pier will be closed off to all traffic for the Gorey Fete (Thursday 15). Therefore, please find below route diversion information:
- 1 and 1A to go as far as Gorey Village bus stop then turn left and left again back via the AA box (passengers for St Helier to board on outward layby)
- Route 2 terminating at Gorey Village, and not travelling to St Catherines, but again is to turn at the village
- Route 29 to turn and pick up at St Catherines (not Gorey Pier)
- Route 23 via St Catherines on outward journey, but on return from Durrell to go via Midland Stores/La Hougue Bie/Mont Millais - not via the Inner Road.
Please expect delays, especially in the evening due to road closures and diversions.
About the Gorey Fete:
This fete is one of the largest annual charity events of the year. Set in the picturesque harbour of Gorey, there is fun for all the family from beach events to crown and anchor. Stage events include the famous yard of ale and spaghetti eating competitions. Al fresco eating all day. The evening fireworks are a spectacular display.
