LibertyBus introduces LibertyLink - visitor-friendly routes for the Easter timetable

After extensive feedback from the public consultation, new bus operator introduces four new services to help visitors make the most of Jersey and add capacity to the regular public network

LibertyBus announced today changes to the proposed Easter timetable which comes into force on 31 March 2013 as a result of extensive public consultation and detailed work with both Tourism and Transport and Technical Services. You can download the Easter timetables here

The key feature of the new timetable is LibertyLink – four new routes that serve Jersey’s top visitor attractions, but are also part of the regular bus network to help Islanders get out and about:

  • Route 22 – Liberation Station to Greve de Lecq via key attractions on Jersey’s South and West coasts
  • Route 23 – Liberation Station to Durrell via Gorey and key attractions such as and Samares Manor
  • Route 28 – Liberation Station to La Mare vineyard via St.Ouen's Parish Hall and key attractions including the Glass Church, Jersey War Tunnels, Living Legend, Amaizin' Adventure Park and Catherine Best
  • Route 29 – Jersey Pearl to Durrell, providing a link across the north of the Island

The routes will be promoted to visitors as LibertyLink, but will be numbered as regular services and vehicles will not be separately branded, avoiding any sense of a divide between services for visitors and Islanders.

Kevin Hart, General Manager, LibertyBus, said “The new LibertyLink routes combine our vision of enhancing the network for everyone, whilst making sure that Jersey’s visitor attractions have the service they need.”

“We take public consultation very seriously at LibertyBus – it’s always a meaningful exercise - and we have made these changes in direct response to feedback we have received, working closely with both Tourism and Transport and Technical Services.“

In addition to the introduction of the LibertyLink routes, the Easter timetable will also see the frequency of Route 1 (Gorey – Liberation Station) increase to a 20 minute frequency during peak times.

In order to ensure greater reliability and punctuality, Route 15 will be split into Route 15 (Airport to Liberation Station) and Route 16 (Liberation Station – Le Marrais).

X12, a peak period ‘express’ service, will operate one morning and one evening journey every weekday which links Corbiere with La Moye, Red Houses, Don Farm, Aero Club, Beaumont Hill, and operating to St Helier via Victoria Avenue
