Services return to normal after snow and ice

From the moment that the snow was forecast, LibertyBus worked with TTS to ensure that the roads were safe for bus travel. The LibertyBus road assessment team were out in force from 3am on Friday morning, continuously assessing the bus routes to see if they were safe for travelling on by bus.

Due to TTS salting the main roads incredibly early on Friday morning, LibertyBus were able to operate the route 15 and route 1 first thing on Friday. Throughout the day, the LibertyBus road assessment team continued to drive around the Island checking the safety of the roads.

Once a route, or part thereof, was deemed safe, LibertyBus could operate a full or limited service on that route. For example, the route 3 travels to Rozel, however, yesterday it terminated at St Martin's Public Hall due to unsafe road conditions at Rozel.

By 1700, LibertyBus had a large proportion of their routes running, ensuring that the most amount of passengers possible could get home safely on the Island's roads in the cold, snowy weather.
