School bus information - Autumn Term 2014

LibertyBus school bus service will be in operation from Wednesday 3 September 2014. Paper school bus tickets are no longer in use on the network and only Avanchi Student cards can be used for payment. Please allow up to 48 hours for top-up online. Alternatively, you can top-up instantly at Liberation Station. The first card is free when you top up with £7 (10 journeys) and provides the user with a 12.5% discount on every journey (70p instead of 80p).

Full, complete books of 10 paper tickets can be transferred for Avanchi Student credit at the information desk at Liberation Station until the 30 September 2014.

Important information: The first few weeks of the academic year, and until after-school activities commence, can be difficult, as exact demand for the services is not known. As in previous years, we’d like to ask all parents, guardians and the students who are intending to use the school buses to please be patient over the first few weeks. Unfortunately, it is impossible to predict demand on any service and it is almost inevitable that some overloading or scheduling problems may occur. LibertyBus will be monitoring the capacity on all routes closely and will make the necessary changes as soon as operationally possible if required. Please remember that the school bus service is on a first come, first served basis so it is advisable to be at your stop at least 5 minutes before scheduled departure.

School buses: 43, 53, 996, 956 to/from Sion: All buses as normal in the morning. However shuttle buses will be operating in the afternoon due to roadworks and road closure on La Grande Route de St Jean.

School buses will depart school as normal in the afternoon, and travel as far as either Hautes Croix (north) or Norfolk Lodge (south). Shuttle buses will then depart from these two destinations once the school buses have arrived.
