Reminder for last day of paper school bus tickets
Transport and Technical Services (TTS) and LibertyBus are reminding all students and parents that the old-style paper school bus tickets, which are in the process of being phased out following the introduction of the LibertyBus AvanchiCard Student, will no longer be valid for travel after the last day of the current school year on Friday 18 July 2014.
This information is especially important for year 6 going into year 7, and younger siblings who travel by bus with older siblings already in secondary school.
Currently, 99% of student trips are paid for using the AvanchiCard Student. The ease of topping up and checking the balance online, and the ability to hotlist the card if it is lost and then transfer the balance over to a new card has been an excellent incentive for students and parents to make the switchover. Another bonus of the AvanchiCard Student is that unlike the paper tickets, it can also be used on all public transport services on non-school days as well.
Students and parents in possession of full, complete books of unused paper tickets are able to exchange them for AvanchiCard Student credit at Liberation Station until September 2014.
